How does this affect you?
If you have an older system and need to replace the outside condensing unit, you may be told that you have to replace the evaporator coil as well.
If you buy a new condensing unit that uses R-410A Freon, you would need the appropriate matching evaporator coil.
However if you really do not have the money to replace both the condensing unit and the coil, you may still buy a condensing unit that uses R-22 Freon and consider the upgrade later.
You do not have as many choices as to the brand or efficiency, but they are still some available.
