Founded more than a half century ago on the shores of the Miami River by an early pioneer of marine air conditioning systems, Thomas Marine remains an industry leader, specializing in the design, installation, and service of air conditioning, refrigeration, and watermaking systems for private yachts as well as commercial and military vessels.

A firmly established company, we operate and staff two physical locations, each with a fully equipped shop for bench testing and repair, an on-site parts and equipment warehouse, and on-duty personnel. We are longstanding members of the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) and strictly adhere to ABYC Standards in our work.

We also maintain active membership in the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), the Marine Industries Association of South Florida (including two terms on the board of directors), the Marine Council (current board member), and the US Superyacht Association. We represent what we believe to be the best equipment available today in terms of serviceability and customer product satisfaction and strive to stay at the forefront of system design.
Services
Today's Thomas Marine Systems was opened by John Thomas Jr. and his wife, Sue, in 1989, but the company's history in South Florida is much longer than that.
John's father, JT Sr., began working in residential air conditioning with his brothers in Hialeah in 1967 but soon discovered the demand for marine cooling and began to specialize in the field.
He installed one of the first air conditioning units built by Cruisair founder Jere Crews as well as the first unit built by Marine Air founders Bert and Connie Ammons.
As an early innovator of marine air conditioning more than a half-century ago, Thomas Marine has closely observed - and often been part of - the evolution of today's sophisticated systems.
We offer a uniquely comprehensive view of equipment options, thoughtful design and installation with an emphasis on long-term serviceability, and comprehensive repair and maintenance.
Thomas Marine Systems proudly represents industry-leading Dometic marine air conditioning systems and accessories.
We consider Dometic to be the best equipment available today in terms of both serviceability and customer product satisfaction, placing a higher priority on long-term value than on initial price point.
Thomas Marine Systems has been providing marine refrigeration sales and service in South Florida for decades.
We specialize in yachts and superyachts and relish difficult design challenges and comprehensive refits.
Whether it's upgrading an icemaker on a sportfisher, outfitting a full galley, or repairing existing equipment, we hope you'll consider Thomas Marine for your refrigeration project.
Thomas Marine Systems represents a wide range of quality marine refrigeration equipment, from compact, standalone icemakers to large-capacity units suitable for superyacht galleys.
Thomas Marine Systems proudly represents FCI reverse osmosis watermakers in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean.
With decades of experience, we can help you select the right equipment for your application, design and install your system, and maintain it throughout the service cycle.
FCI watermakers, which we believe to be the most advanced and reliable watermakers available today, optimize the flow of water, while industrial-quality materials employed throughout the reverse osmosis system ensure robust operation.
Thomas Marine Systems sells, installs and services the innovative CLEARLINE System from ElectroSea in South Florida, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and beyond.
We specialize in retrofitting a wide range of vessels - from sportfishers to superyachts - to prevent barnacles and other marine growth in your raw water lines.
ElectroSea's ingenious solution to the problem of barnacles in raw water lines is not to remove them but to prevent them in the first place.
The new CLEARLINE System uses electrochlorination technology to create an environment where barnacles, biofilm, algae and marine growth simply can't live.
