Northwestern Tech is The HVAC School in Michigan. HVAC training is all we do, and our hands-on teaching is the best way to learn. Our 10 month Heating and Cooling Program is designed to do one thing, get you to work in an HVAC related field. Our HVAC Program teaches the fundamentals of the HVAC/R and mechanical trades. Taught by field-experienced instructors with a hands-on method, this isn't school as you remember it.

Students have the ability to earn 4 national HVAC certifications, and every minute of class is designed to provide you with the skills needed for HVAC related employment. We take the same hands-on approach you'll find in the classroom to making sure every graduate has an opportunity to work in the field. Starting in Career Development, we sit-down with every student, go over your resume, discuss your Career Goals, and work tirelessly to get you working in the field.

This is an introductory course in the operation of modern air conditioning systems.
This course instructs the student in system operation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of split systems and package air conditioning systems.
Topics covered include refrigeration theory, system components, refrigerants, specialized tools, charging, and refrigerant recovery.

This course focuses on the hands-on approach to learning the installation of mechanical equipment, sheet metal, gas piping, mechanical code, and electrical procedures on residential equipment.
Topics covered include installation clearances, venting requirements, gas pipe cutting and threading, sheet metal design/installation, refrigeration piping, high/low voltage wiring, electronic air cleaner and humidifier installation, and start-up procedures.
