John O. Childers started the business as Childers Sheet Metal, and for years they specialized in roofing, guttering, sheet metal works, and furnace installation for central heating systems.
In the early 60's air conditioning was a rarity if not a novelty.
We began installing air conditioning along with furnaces more frequently toward the end of the decade.
With the housing boom in the early 70's central air conditioning was a must, and in 1977 after John O. Jr. graduated from Clemson, we began selling Bryant Heating & Cooling products.
